Suraj Yengde, award winning scholar, activist, and postdoctoral fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School, was in Kathmandu for the release of his new book, “Caste Matters.” He sat down with The Record to talk about caste in contemporary society, how anti-Blackness in the United States is related to anti-Dalitness in the Indian subcontinent, and how Bramhins need to be “cultural suicide bombers” in order to dismantle the caste system.
